About God and Jesus Christ

About God and Jesus Christ

ABOUT GOD In determining why Christianity seems to have done so much harm in society (the crusades, the inquisition etc), one has to distinguish between people who have a relationship with Christ, and the institution which calls itself Christian. An institution can never be Christian. Suffering comes about mostly because of the gift God gave us, "free will", which is the gift that allows us to choose whether to love, or hate, which if the latter is chosen could cause much suffering. Without free will, however, we could not really love voluntarily. And without voluntary love, you just become a robot who cannot possibly love. Also with free will, God chooses to limit Himself as to His power as well as to His foreknowledge of an individual's future, although He does know the over-all beneficial future of society. As I say, most suffering is caused by our use of free will, but some suffering is also caused by creation limitations, and spiritual warfare (because you can't see this really taking place, doesn't mean it's actually not taking place). But this free will is also somewhat limited for the individual in that one's free will is greatly influenced by generation after generation of free will decisions made by their ancestors. And from looking at the world around us, one can see that many of these decisions went in the wrong direction. But then how do you know that there really is a God overseeing all this? It's in the creation. It's illogical to assume that chance really created rationality, so since we were actually created with a desire for meaningfulness, which is a part of rationality and a creator is always greater than his creation, our creator must be greater in personhood (a God) than we are. And our physical smallness compared to what's out there in the universe should be no criteria for our importance to God. After all, we do have rationality. Another arguement for God's existence is that we being imperfect as we all know, but continually striving for perfection, must have developed this idea of perfection from someplace, and the most logical place that we developed this from seems to be from a higher power (a God, for instance). And finally, can you imagine a planet spinning around the universe in perfect unison allowing human life to evolve as it has for as long as it has without completely breaking up with all its earthquakes and volcanoes taking place without a God being in control. So if there is a God, why doesn't He seem to answer prayer? This is a difficult question to answer, but it's probably due to the consequences of sin and spiritual warfare taking place around us, although in our prayers one can experience God being with us to comfort and heal us in any of the suffering we're encountering. The basic function of prayer, however, is to build a faith relationship between God and ourselves, and petitionary prayer is only a small part of this faith relationship. But with petitionary prayer being the crux of the problem as to whether prayer works or not, you can never scientifically prove that petitionary prayer really works, because there are so many interconnected variables to look at in God's scheme of things. Sometimes prayer seems to work, and sometimes it doesn't, but here you have to realize our loving God has a much broader perspective as to what is really needed for society's betterment, than we do while we're here on earth. And as I said above, you also have to take into account the consequences of sin, and spiritual warfare ABOUT JESUS CHRIST Who is Jesus Christ? According to Christians, Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is also our Savior in that He saved us from our sin by suffering and dying on the cross and being raised from the dead. He was God's sacrifice for us. It was like perfection saving imperfection. But we actually have to believe in all this so that we can then become wrapped up in our belief, or Jesus Christ, just like a Christmas package, so that when God looks at us, all that He can see is His Son (perfection), or Himself as if He were looking into a mirror. Now how do we know all this? By reading the Gospels. But how do we know that the Gospels are really trustworthy. To go into this, you have to look at the Gospels, not as the literal Word of God, but as historical documents. In doing this, you have to ask certain questions about these documents . 1) Do the documents portray eyewitness accounts. The Gospels do. 2) Do the documents contain irrelevant material not pertinent to the eyewitness accounts? Yes, they do. 3) Do the Gospels contain self-damaging material? Yes, they do. For example, the boldness of some of the women during this time period, and the statement Jesus made from the cross when He cried out" My God, My God, Why have You forsaken Me?" 4) Do all 4 Gospels have a consistency as well as a divergency in perspectives? Yes, they do. 5) Do the Gospels increase their legendary exaggeration? No, they don't, even though they do have some supernatural events in them. 6) Is there any indication that the writers of the Gospels have an ulterior motive for writing them? No, there isn't. In fact they could have faced persecution for writing them. 7) Can outside sources from that time authenticate the Gospels? Yes, they can and do. 8) Do archeological findings substantiate many of the Biblical events related to us in the Gospels? Yes, they do. And 9) Were there many opponents of the Gospels at the time that could disprove the Gospels, but couldn't? Yes, there were. These are all questions that should be asked to determine whether a document has historical merit or not. And if the answers are all in the affirmative, except for questions 5 and 6, then the document has historical authenticity. In this case from the answers given above, the Gospels appear to be authentic historical documents and can be used as historical evidence for the life of Jesus Christ. But there still seem to be many historical discrepencies within the Gospels. This actually can be explained away by realizing that the Gospels were never intended to be a biographical sketch of Jesus Christ, although there was much biographical material contained therein. The purpose of the Gospels was really to convey a message of salvation for the readers. In doing this, the discrepencies then become irrelevent. And finally the authorship and date that the Gospels were written are not essential elements to the credibility as to what the Gospels actually say, although from the Book of Acts it does seem to say that at least the first three Gospels were written before 60 AD, and that the authorship of Luke is almost a certainty, whereas the authorship of the other Gospels are closer to a certainty than not. But the bottom line is that there is enough historical authenticity in the Gospels to make them worth-while reading. As I say, in general, the Gospels are historically reliable, but how about the resurrection? Here too, you have enough historical criteria to indicate that the resurrection actually took place. For instance, 1) There are 5 independent sources to indicate that the event took place (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Paul),with each giving individual eyewitness accounts of the occasion. 2) Jesus's tomb was empty with His burial clothes neatly folded inside the tomb. This could have been easily checked out at the time by those opposed to the story. 3) The church's sudden growth a few weeks after the resurrection. 4) The resurrection accounts also have many irrevelant material and some self-damaging material (such as the role of women in the event) that are common to early eyewitness based accounts. 5) There is a total lack of theological reflection in the narrative which is not true for most legendary accounts. 6) The conversion of Paul is unexplained without the resurrection. 7)Paul lists over 500 witnesses to the resurrection (1 Cor 15) who could always be cross-examined. 8) The transformation of the Disciples which was a miracle considering their character before the resurrection. And 9) There is no motive for the authors to fabricate the story. They had nothing to gain, and everything to lose (their lives). Now does the resurrection prove that Jesus was also God Incarnate? No it doesn't, but if you can take the Gospels as reliable historical documents, you find that Jesus does make such statements in them as, "I and the Father are one", "If you see Me, you see the Father", and "He who believes in Me, believes in the Father who sent Me". This seems to show that Jesus really believed that He was God incarnate. And if the Gospels were fabricated, wouldn't the story have ended differently before the crucifixion?

Gods Eyes- If These Four Walls Could Talk?

Gods Eyes- If These Four Walls Could Talk?

Can you imagine being sent out into the wilderness for forty years like Moses? If Moses would have lived his life up until then differently would God have spared him the discomfort? Was God trying to prove some point to Moses by making an example of him? What can we learn about this story?

When was the last time you drove down the road with out the radio in your ears? When was the last time you just listen to your kids, your spouse or a friend and not said two words? When was the last time you just stopped and listened to the coffee pot making coffee early in the morning? Whether by design, life or nature most of us during our lives have built up barriers (walls) in our minds and around our hearts. By doing so most will never reach the full potential of what God has for their lives. Inside each of us are minds of brilliance and hearts of gold. Yet it's our walls that prevent us of experiencing life seen through God's eyes.

Over time with life's up's and down's and disappointments from others we harden like walls of cement. Our walls have been constructed to protect us from fear. Fear of failure, fear of success, fear of expectations. Our rooms become smaller and our thinking becomes stale. A good example of this is children. The bible says, "Child like faith." Children have no fear. They walk right up to a strangers and have a conversation, with out thinking they will take a leap off a table to get to the couch.

As adults, why do we find it so hard to get back to the simple things in life? Why is it so hard to quiet our minds? Have we become so scared of realizing who we have become that we fill our heads up with meaningless things? Has the walls of our hearts been built right before our blinded eyes? I started a new company in May of this year with a friend of mine. About a month ago we happened to be talking in our lecture hall. I said to her, "Somewhere within these four walls is a million dollar idea. The question is, "Are we willing to look for it, and are we willing to ask God for help guiding us to it?" In other words, "what if these walls could talk?"

What if today your walls could talk? What if your barriers and fears didn't exist? How would your life change? Would you forgive easier? Would you have a different career? Would you worry less? Would you have a better relationship with others or even with Jesus? I guess God could ask us the same question. "Somewhere within your four walls of your life, mind, and heart is your relationship with me. Are you willing to let your walls down, ask for it and seek it with all you have? Are you willing to just trust me that I will guide and protect you?" Would Moses life been different if his walls could talk? Maybe not. But maybe so!

Today we have a choice to allow our walls to talk. Today we have the chance to make a different in our own life and touch another. Will you take down a wall and live a life God has always wanted for you? Will you give yourself a chance to see life through Gods eyes? All you have to do is look and listen for him and be willing to ask for his guidance. Let your heart and mind talk this week. Let your true brilliance and your heart of gold shine from behind those walls. Make a difference in yours and some one else's life.

The Temple of Love Unites Christianity Islam and Judaism Under God of Mount Sinai

The Temple of Love Unites Christianity Islam and Judaism Under God of Mount Sinai

In case you hadn't noticed because you were too busy watching Michael Jackson moonwalk on the roof of his car, or dangling his new baby upside down off the top balcony of the Paris Hilton, the Jewish, Muslim, and Christian people are currently engaged in a World War against each other. The Muslim 911 was the first shot.
In retaliation the President of the United States announced that he was launching a Crusade. As every Muslim person knows, the Crusades were a thousand years ago when the Pope marched his Christian Army across Europe, massacring every Jew in their way, until they stood knee deep in Muslim blood in Jerusalem, reclaiming the Holy Land.
So far the President of the United States has conquered Afghanistan and Iraq, and is now threatening Syria and Iran. Meanwhile the President of Iran is leading hundreds of thousands of Muslims through the streets of Iran chanting, "Death to America, Death to Israel", and threatening to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth. We are now escalating rapidly into the Apocalypse, the sudden violent end of life on Earth forever. As every scientist on Earth knows, Nuclear World War 3 will have exactly zero survivors. So, what do we do now? Well, the obvious answer is that the Muslim Christian and Jewish people make Peace among themselves. The Temple of Love goes further. It actually unites Christianity Islam Judaism and Everyone else by tying us together with our common threads and resolving all of our differences. If you want to write a pop song, like the King of Pop, first compose a few catchy melodies for your verse, bridge, and chorus. Then liberally sprinkle in these lyrics: "Love, Fly, Set me Free, Love, Love, Love, Love, Fly High, Set me Free, Love, Love, and Love." Then get Madonna, aka Esther to sing it. Love her. If you want to write a Gospel song, then follow part "A" above, then liberally sprinkle in these lyrics: "God, Lord, God, Lord, I love you, Love, God, Love, You are my Love, my Lord, my God." What we seem to have on Earth today is an overabundance of Pop and Gospel songs, and Hatred, and an intense lack of Love among the 3 children of God of Mount Sinai, aka Jesus, Allah, and Elohim. Lets fix that now before we vaporize all of our I Pods. Imagine a picture in your mind, or draw it: At the top of this picture there is a group of people who all believe in God. Underneath picture a group of people who all also believe that there is only One God, God of Mount Sinai, who handed the 10 commandments to Moses on Mount Sinai 3,200 years ago. Underneath there is a group of people who all also believe that the 10 commandments, laws, rules of their God of Mount are the Divine Constitution of the Universe. Now, draw a line under that last group. What do we have? Voila! We have every Christian, every Muslim, and every Jew on Earth today, 3 billion people, in the same group, members of a brand new Religion of God of Mount Sinai, The Temple of Love, aka The Temple of 10ve, 10vers, suddenly loving each other! So, what is dividing us? Well, underneath the line you drew in your pictures, place your 3 Holy Bibles, the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the Koran, each commanding you all to massacre each other. So what do we do with them? Well, using your common sense the answer is obvious - we set them aside to survive. This was all the plan of the Jewish born Rabbi, the Messiah of Christianity and Islam, Jesus Christ, upon his return, not to mention the plan of your God of Mount Sinai, through every single Biblical Prophet. It is written and so it is. See for yourself what is really written, in an entertaining and educational format, with Biblical citations, at The Temple of Love, http://www.thetempleoflove.com

Jesus Christ: One Can Reach God Only Through Him - Is this Statement Correct?

Jesus Christ: One Can Reach God Only Through Him - Is this Statement Correct?

Catch the express or the super fast bullet train. If we are able to reach our goal the purpose is served. Talk of Jesus Christ, Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, or Prophet Mohammed... all reached the goal they had established in their life. The goal of all (including Jesus Christ) was the same... only the paths were different.

Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed... all wanted to have one-to-one interaction with God the Almighty. All four of them succeeded in their life. If Jesus Christ were to say that God can be reached through him (he is not incorrect) for any enlightened Soul can guide the humanity to its logistical end.

Life was made like that by God the Almighty. The Jesus Christ has been considered in Christianity as the son of God the Almighty. The teachings of Jesus Christ can also not be considered wrong but there is all possibility that the interpretation of the teachings of Jesus Christ may have been wrongly monitored by people with vested interests.

Such wrong interpretations exist in every religion or Dharma. The society at present thinks and interprets everything in terms of materialistic gains. How can then be the teachings of Jesus Christ remain untouched by impurities?

The so called statement by Jesus Christ that one can reach god only through him is a misnomer. No enlightened Soul can utter such words. It is a complete disregard of the teachings of Jesus Christ. It is upon the masses in general to assess whom to trust in the present materialistic trend existing in the society. A blind faith in the Vatican teachings can totally misguide the humanity towards a catastrophic end.

Even though the interpretation of the teachings of Jesus Christ by the Vatican carry absolute weight age for most Catholics around the world but it need not be the absolute truth as was administered and monitored by Jesus Christ himself. The Vatican interpretations can be based on absolutely wrong footing.

Let me give an example-

Sometimes back it was announced in most of the newspapers around the world that John Pope Paul (considered a direct representative of Jesus Christ on Mother Earth) had arranged for a team of renowned astronomers and quite a number of powerful telescopes with the hope that God could be located in the universe perchance. The poor John Pope Paul failed to realize that the basic building block of the whole Cosmos is atoms and molecules. God the Almighty cannot have existence in the form of a human being... it has to be a source of energy... the might of which can not be perceived with the limitations of the senses and the mind.

What an awful waste of money and intelligence... none in the Catholic world retaliated. What does this prove...? Does this confirm the blind faith of the masses in the Vatican? Such a blind faith in the Vatican is absolutely wrong for it leads the society towards wrong conclusions! If Jesus Christ had been alive today... he would have outright rejected the actions of the Vatican.

We are intelligent human beings and we need to introspect upon everything said or interpreted to us. We have science to support us whenever the need arises. It is a different matter that everything in the field of spirituality cannot be interpreted in terms of science for most things in the spiritual field are taken care of by faith alone (faith in the existence and system of God). I again confirm that it is only the absolute faith in the system of God that can lead us towards the eternal light... nothing else!

Whatever Jesus Christ may have said at any stage of life would have been absolutely correct... only the interpretations of his sayings and teachings are likely to be interpreted wrongly based on the vested interests many people possess. Furthermore, to be able to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ one need not become a Christian. Similarly as to follow the dictates of Lord Krishna one need not be a Hindu. All teachings are required to be followed in the right spirit of the sacred scriptures.

Every enlightened teacher like Jesus Christ would always want to emphasize that it is in the interest of the masses that their teachings be followed in the right spirit for one (Jesus Christ) who has already covered the journey knows the path! Swami Vivekananda... the famous disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa knew very well that under the guidance of his master he can become enlightened in this very life. It was up to Swami Vivekananda entirely whether or not to follow the teachings of sage Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa in order to realize God in his lifetime.

Whether we follow the teachings of Jesus Christ or Gautama Buddha is immaterial. The sole purpose of the journey of life of a human being is always reaching the end of the journey and this goal can only be achieved by following the dictates of an enlightened master alone (like Jesus Christ). It is very important! The fact written in the Bible that "God can only be reached through Jesus Christ" confirms this.
